Environment & Setting
  • NHV is a fast growing international helicopter operator, with its supporting services in Ostend (Belgium). At this moment there are about 350 employees working for NHV.
  • NHV activities are located in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, French-Guyana and several countries in Africa (Ghana, …).
  • NHV provides daily off- & on-shore helicopter services for the Oil & Gas Industry, the Maritime Pilot Services, Hospitals and several Governments.
  • NHV is also an official Eurocopter Maintenance, Distributor & Service Center, with base maintenance stations in Belgium, The Netherlands, French-Guyana & Ghana.
  • NHV is licensed by the Belgian authorities as a Flight Training Organization (FTO) and a Part 147 Maintenance Training Organization (MTOE). NHV has its own Flight Simulator in Ostend.

Main purpose of the job
The engineer trainee will assist the certifying staff and will, at all times, work under their supervision.
Tasks & Duties
  • Line Maintenance
  • In order to assure daily business continuity for the Operations the Trainee will
    • Work under supervision of a licensed engineer.
    • Comply with the requirements as described in the regulations (EC 1056/2008, Annex II)
    • Ensure that all line maintenance tasks carried out to helicopters  meet the standard of the BCAA/EASA  and M.O.E. instructions
    • Ensure that all maintenance is completed within the appropriate time scales to ensure provision of serviceable aircraft to meet the operational need.
    • Ensure, based on pilot & all other relevant information, daily problem analysis & problem solving.
    • Ensure briefing & debriefing of pilots and Chief Engineer.
    • Ensure that PRF (preflight check) is performed.
    • Ensure, in cooperation with NHV Supply Chain, Store & MCC that the necessary maintenance material & spare parts are present on site at the planned moment
    • Report daily on the maintenance situation to the chief engineer / maintenance manager.
  • Supporting functions
    • The trainee will provide (technical) support to local operations following the instructions of NHV Ground Operations.
Labour Conditions
  • You’ll work in Norwich, UK in a 2 weeks ON, 2 weeks OFF roster.
  • You’ll be working in a team, under supervision of the Chief Engineer.
  • Accommodation and the use of a company pool car can be foreseen when on duty.
Dimensions
  • 2 types of helicopters: EC155 B1 + AS365 N3
  • 1 helicopter in operations – 1 helicopter in back-up
Requirements/Job profile
  • Relevant education in aviation engineering
  • ICT-literate (specific aviation software & MS Office)
  • Languages:
    • English (professional level – understanding – speaking – writing).
  • Knows & plays by the procedures & processes (operational, quality, safety, …) installed by the company

Training
Training will be provided by NHV.
